In 1875, the invention of telephone breached distance through sound. Between 1910 to 1920 the first radio station began to broadcast sound. By the 1940s television started broadcasting audio-visuals. In 1943, the world's first electronic computer was created. With the invention of microprocessor in the 1970s that computers became accessible to public. In the 1990s the internet reached to every home.
A digital world is a world united by one language, a world where people from across the globe share ideas with one another and work together to build a new society.
In this digital world three factors are more important and they are information, education and entertainment. There are four major forces that are shaping the digital age.

There are 140 million TV households and 100 million pay TV viewers. According to the statistic 625+ TV channels make this country the third largest viewership only after USA and China. The second largest consumer of mobile internet after USA. 70% of the population have already integrated the mobile phone into their lives. Wireless broadband will be a big part of the future. There are already nearly 800 million mobile connections in India and the 3G and 4G licenses allocation will make the opportunity staggering.
New Digital platforms for content delivery have revolutionised media distribution in India. This has not only facilitated development of targeted media content, but has also enhanced effective and wider reach across diverse markets. The recent report says by 2015 there will be over one trillion devices connected to the internet. Every second we have 500 status updates on Facebook, 34 thousand Google searches. This is really a digital revolution. Looking at these figures a marketer will no longer be dependent on the traditional medium. What they need is a web edge and a digitalized touch. After all we live in a digital world.
